Services
Students will be enrolled in a minimum of 12 academic credits for both Fall and Spring semesters to ensure a smooth transition into Michigan State University.
Every student will participate in the International Engagement in Mexico (IEM), through the Office of Education Abroad that will take place in each of the four cities in Mexico.
(1) Campeche, (2) Huatulco, (3) Merida, (4) Oaxaca. This 3 credit, academic experience, has been a tradition for over 10 years at MSU. Through this program we also invite continuing CAMP students for an opportunity to serve as site leaders for leadership training.
Due to traveling abroad it is necessary for students to have a traveling passport, and/or other travel documents necessary.
MSU CAMP scholars initiative collaborates with campus faculty, student services, and community-based agencies to improve educational opportunities for migrant and seasonal farm worker students.
In addition you will receive:
- Assistance with completing all the necessary forms for admission, financial aid and university services.
- Help securing on-campus housing. Assistance in class registration and selection. Introduction to the support staff at Michigan State University.
- Assistance in developing a support system that will improve your study skills, along with learning essential college survival skills.
- Limited supplemental financial assistance for books, supplies, health insurance and transportation may be available to qualified candidates
- Peer mentoring services will also be provided to all CAMP scholars
- Identify and utilize campus resources’ positively such as career services and other professional and personal development.
